Host School Placement

As a part of the Teachers for the Global Classrooms International Field Experience, each teacher is assigned to a host teacher and school for about ten days. This will give us the opportunity to work closely with a school community to build relationships between the Philippines and the United States, as well as to develop a deeper understanding of what school looks like in another country.

Yesterday I was finally able to find out my host school and teacher!

I have been placed at Batangas National High School in Batangas City. It is located about 2 hours south of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Of course I Googled the school and found this picture:

I can't wait to get to the Philippines and get some more pictures of the school, its teachers, and its students! It's going to be exciting to learn alongside these people!

The school looks a lot different than my school, Legg Middle School, in Coldwater, Michigan:

What would you like to know more about as I learn about school in the Philippines?
