The Beginning

Where is there to start, but the beginning?

Applying for the Teachers for Global Classroom program seemed like a long shot, but when I learned that I had been accepted, I could not have been more excited! Now my International Field Experience is nearly here!

In only a few days, I will be traveling to Washington, D.C., to learn about global education and to bring new ideas to my school and district.

In only a few short months, I will be traveling to the Philippines to learn about their culture, their system of education, and to create a bridge from the United States.

Follow along and see what happens!

    1. Hi 6th graders! I'm so glad that you are getting a chance to follow me! Let me know any questions you have and I'll do my best to find the answers for you. So far I have seen a lot of cultural diffusion. Especially fast food restaurants! On our way to dinner tonight I counted 4 KFC restaurants and several McDonald's.

    1. I think that it will be both different and the same. They have many of the same subjects as we do, but they also teach them in multiple languages. The ages of the students in each grade is the same as the US, but their students wear uniforms and used to be done at grade 10.
